If you’ve spent any time in Sonoma Verde, chances are you’ve heard the name Lacey Miller, or maybe even tasted one of her incredible home-cooked meals. What started as a simple idea has grown into a thriving business, rooted right in the heart of this close-knit community. For Lacey and her family, Sonoma Verde isn’t just where they live, it’s home. “It’s hard to believe we’ve been here almost 10 years,” Lacey shares. “It really has flown by! We knew we wanted to be in the Rockwall area, and we knew Sonoma Verde was home during our very first visit.” That feeling never faded. In fact, it only grew stronger. “Ultimately, it’s the friendships we’ve made that have kept us here,” she says. “We’ve made lifelong friends, and we truly love doing life together in this community.” It’s that sense of connection that defines Sonoma Verde for Lacey. From casual evenings on the back porch, cocktail in hand, game on the TV, to unforgettable neighborhood traditions like the Fourth of July celebration, the Millers have embraced every moment. “This neighborhood is filled with the best people,” Lacey says. “It just makes you feel right at home.” |

That same supportive spirit played a major role in helping Lacey turn her passion into a business.Lacey’s journey into entrepreneurship began as a creative outlet through Instagram and YouTube. But it didn’t take long for her talent, and her passion, to catch on.
“Savor & Shine started as a side hustle when I knew I wanted to explore entrepreneurship,” she explains. “It’s grown more than I could have imagined in just a couple of years.”
Today, Savor & Shine has become her full-time focus, offering homemade dinners each week right here in Rockwall, and quickly building a loyal customer base.
And some of her very first supporters? Her neighbors.
“Our community has been amazing,” Lacey says. “Some of my first repeat customers were neighbors, and they were the first to spread the word. I couldn’t be more thankful.”
Specializing in comfort food and easy weeknight meals, Lacey has found a way to bring families together around the dinner table, without the stress of cooking.
While her husband Jeff might argue her signature dish is a rich and savory Beef Bourguignon, customers consistently come back for one standout favorite: her Chicken & Dumplings.
“It’s definitely been a fan favorite,” she laughs.
Looking ahead, Lacey has big dreams for Savor & Shine, including the possibility of opening a brick-and-mortar location. But no matter how much the business grows, her roots in Sonoma Verde will always be at the center of her story.
For those planning events or thinking about starting something of their own, Lacey keeps it simple:
“Start planning early, and don’t be afraid to delegate.”
It’s advice she’s clearly taken to heart, building a business that not only supports her family but “Moving to Sonoma Verde has been one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family,” she says. “I couldn’t be more grateful we chose to raise our family here.”
In a neighborhood where friendships turn into support systems and passions turn into thriving businesses, stories like this one are what make Sonoma Verde shine.
